Student of the Month - April

Our student of the month for April is Demi Keller.

Demi is in her first year at Penn State Harrisburg and has done a great job adjusting to a new campus.  Demi is currently auditing a course on campus titled Interpretations of Humanities.  Demi attends class either with  a Peer Mentor's support or independently.  Demi is also participating in a practicum opportunity with the Marketing Department on campus.

Outside of school Demi holds a part time job at The Olive Garden where she drives to and from work by herself.  Demi's future goals are to work with a professional sports team, preferably the New England Patriots.

Demi's success here at Penn State has been an inspiration to all of us.  We cannot wait to see what her future holds.  Keep up the great work & never lose your outgoing personality and spunk!!!

Student of the Month- March

We are proud to announce that our student of the month for March is Donhelen Hodges!!

Donhelen is a returning student to our program this year and has made huge strides both academically and in her professional career as well.

Donhelen is currently auditing Women and Gender Studies on campus this semester.  She attends class with a Peer Mentor and navigates all of her academic coursework with mentor support. In addition, she also is taking a course on Customer Relations and will have opportunity to take the National Retain Federation Exam.  Donhelen is also participating in a practicum opportunity at the West Shore Country Club.

Outside of campus Donhelen is very active with Special Olympics.  She has recently served as a Global Messenger for Special Olympics and took first place in the 100m walk and the 100m dash.

We are incredibly proud of all the Donhelen has accomplished while being in the Career Studies program here at Penn State Harrisburg.  We cannot wait to see what amazing things lie ahead for you!

Adventure Sports Career Field Trip

Last week we took a trip off campus and had a behind the scenes tour of Adventure Sports in Hershey.  We were able to see how employees work at all the different areas at the facility and what goes into getting the facility ready for the season.

The students had a great time and enjoyed a fun lunch as a group afterwards.

Thank you to Adventure Sports for this great opportunity!
